We are not two, we are one (2026) Original Watercolour by Anna Belousova

20 x 20 x 0.2cm (unframed) / 16 x 8cm (actual image size)

£211.62

This intimate watercolor is based on my own body and the act of self-posing, transforming a private physical experience into a delicate figurative composition. The work explores vulnerability, sensuality, and the unstable boundary between presence and disappearance.

Painted in diluted red pigment, the figure seems to dissolve into the paper itself, creating soft transitions between flesh, fluid, and empty space. The fragmented body resists fixed definition, appearing both exposed and withdrawn at the same time.

Part of the Seeds series, this work reflects my ongoing exploration of the body as something porous, organic, and continuously transforming. Inspired by natural processes and emotional states, the series connects human intimacy with the fragile logic of growth found in plants and seeds.

Its minimalist palette and quiet emotional intensity make the piece especially suited for contemporary, minimalist, and collector-oriented interiors.
