- toi, toi ma reine
Original artwork description
Two beings stand, each wearing a discreet crown. One is human, the other feline. Neither dominates the other. They simply recognize themselves as sovereign of the same territory: that of affection, trust and presence.
This portrait is a tribute to all people who live alone, by choice or by the circumstances of life. To those whose cat has become much more than a companion: a silent confidant, a guardian of daily life, a faithful presence that transforms a house into a home.
The cat reigns with its mysterious gentleness, the human with its assumed vulnerability. Together, they form a kingdom of two, where each watches over the other.
The delicate textures, the discreet flowers and the calm colors prolong this atmosphere of daily poetry. As in the whole series of crowned portraits, the crown does not celebrate a power over others, but the nobility of what we cultivate within us: love, fidelity, the ability to create a refuge.
