“The Ice Kingdom”

They say that far beyond the highest mountains lies the Ice Kingdom a place where winter never ends and silence is considered the highest form of wisdom.

Its guardian bears a crystal upon her forehead. It is not a crown, nor an ornament, but a gift of the first frost. The crystal does not shine on its own it awakens only when the mind becomes still and clear. Then, a soft golden light spreads across the frozen land, warming even the coldest ice.

In this kingdom, flowers bloom that belong to no season. They can only exist in snow and frost, and their nectar is meant for hummingbirds alone — the only creatures swift enough to carry warmth through eternal winter.

It is said that every hummingbird leaving the Ice Kingdom carries a tiny spark of that golden light, hiding it within the heart of someone who has almost forgotten how to hope.

That is why, even on the coldest day, warmth sometimes appears without reason.

They say it is not the sun returning.

It is a hummingbird finding its way back from the Ice Kingdom.
