Mixed media painting inspired by The Secret Garden (F.H. Burnett). Artwork portrays the different perspectives individuals have, the viewer sees the beautiful and rich garden landscape, however behind the young woman in the painting misses this and has her own perspective of what she can or cannot see. The artist highlights how each person has a unique perspective, and what is implicit and explicit is relational and positional. The artist has used mixed media to create a multi-dimensional textured look, with rich flora and fauna on a iridescent navy background. The artist has used rich colours to enhance the look of the wildlife and flora in the painting, and iridescent paints in the fore and background to create shadows and lights that give the piece movement and enhance the textures. The painting uses the woman in the centre as a direct focus on the message behind the painting, with a combination of different mediums to create a deep and thoughtful focus. The combination of rich and warm earth tones against the iridescent shades plays on light and shadows to ensure that this painting looks unique and beautiful in all light conditions, changing with the light to complement to room.
