Rempstone heath, Sunset
Walking back along the sandy earth trail,
Early March,
The sun was huge in the orange sky,
Pine trees, dried grasses and bracken,
So peaceful it was hard to leave.

Original impressionist watercolour of the Isle of Purbeck landscape where there are many heaths within it.
I used high quality watercolour paper extra rough textured cold pressed Bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb. Wet on wet back washes for ethereal background and sky. I used my Chinese brushes to create the markings, my filbert brush for the texture effect and etched out the grasses with my little finger nail.
