Original artwork description:

When I was a young boy still living in Hong Kong, my uncle gave me an album of Chinese stamps. He was supposed to bring it back to China as a gift but it was not allowed. So I became the happy recipient of this stamp album and started my hobby of stamp collecting.
I spend hours studying, arranging and rearranging my stamps. Everyday, I would check for the mail in the mail box to increase my collection.
For me, each little piece of paper was like a piece of miniature art work. Some really captured my imagination wishing I could travel to those countries when I would grow up. Eventually, my stamp collection grew into a dozen albums. I have even been to a handful of those countries.
Later after I got accepted into art college and I discovered more interests in art, I forgot about my stamps albums.
Until recently, I have decided to use them again only differently.I got an idea last year to combine my past hobby with my passion in art. I used the stamps as my inspiration for my painting: each little painting is to compliment a stamp.
This one "cyclamen with stamp" is 5"x7.5" framed.

Materials used:
