Summer, Pines is a quietly atmospheric landscape where loose, expressive brushwork meets naturalistic colour. A stand of dark pines rises against a soft, summer‑blue sky, their vertical trunks giving the composition a gentle rhythm. The foreground is a weave of greens, warm ochres and broken passages of colour, painted with the confident, gestural touch that runs through my recent abstracted‑landscape work.
White wildflowers flicker across the lower field, adding a delicate counterpoint to the deeper tones of the trees. The whole painting carries a sense of warm air, open ground and quiet weather, with colour doing the storytelling rather than literal detail.
