Pavarti Eclaircissement (2022) Original Sculpture by Philippe Buil

With Pavarti Eclaircissement, I wanted to express the emergence of light from darkness, like an inner awakening taking shape.

I am Philippe Buil, a French sculptor, and I created this female bust using my distinctive metal lace technique. By melting steel drop by drop, I build an openwork structure that reveals the contours of the feminine form while allowing light to pass through.

The black steel creates depth and mystery, while delicate applications of 24-karat gold leaf illuminate selected areas of the sculpture. This interplay between shadow and light creates a powerful visual tension: some details emerge immediately, while others gradually reveal themselves to the viewer.

For me, this sculpture explores the moment when something hidden begins to appear, a passage between introspection and revelation. The contrast between the dark metal and the luminous gold gives the work both a sculptural presence and a sense of delicacy.

Handcrafted in my studio in France, Pavarti Eclaircissement is a unique original artwork, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
