Ordinary Day (2025)

"I prefer local roads over highways; they lead to the most interesting places. This canvas is a local road to a memory of a Baltic sunrise."

The Horizon Deconstructed: This 120 x 130 cm piece is a meditative study of a sunrise over the Baltic Sea. While it may evoke the "color fields" of Rothko, it is a literal, mathematical interpretation of a specific geographic coordinate. By taking a narrow vertical slice of the coastal dawn and stretching it across the linen canvas, I’ve transformed the fleeting morning light into permanent horizontal bands of color and air.

The Musical Riddle: The title Ordinary Day is a fragment of a puzzle. It refers to a specific song, a lyric, or an emotional reaction to a piece of music that played in my studio during the creation process. Finding the sonic match is the key to fully interpreting the atmosphere of this landscape—shifting the perception from a simple view to a shared memory.

Healing Through Texture: Created to bring a sense of profound calmness to modern interiors, this work features dozens of layers of acrylic paint. Using unconventional tools like DIY sponges and rags, I’ve built a rich, "kaleidoscopic" texture that reveals micro-details upon closer inspection. It is designed to be a "window to calm" for a restless, chaos-driven mind.
