About Sandra Haney

Biography

I live in the North of England and work in a variety of media including painting and printmaking.
Several of my artworks are part of the interior decor of luxury Omaze homes in various UK locations, as seen on tv, raising funds for charities.

2025 three of my paintings were selected for Jackson’s Art Prize. In the top 25% of entries.
November 2025 my painting ‘Coastal Path’ won a prize at the UKArtists online exhibition.

2023 Selected as an Artist To Watch by UKARTISTS.

Often working on location, I am interested in recreating atmosphere, and the balance between abstraction and realism. Typical subjects are my garden, plants  and landscapes.

Selected along with 8 other artists globally, for interview and to feature in the special edition of LandEscape Art Review, Vol 67 July 2022:

A featured artist by Circle Arts, my work was selected for the Circle Quarterly Art Review 7, Autumn 2021.

Venue:
The Sanctuary Gallery, Newnham on Severn, GL14 1BB
The Sanctuary Gallery marks the turning of the seasons with an exhibition that celebrates a place which brings land, community, and nature together. Allotments have greatly enriched our environments, becoming rural oases and green urban corridors for birds, insects and other wildlife. They have also become an important part of the wellness and mindfulness movement. All the artworks in this exhibition are inspired by the things we grow for pleasure, and the habitats created between shed, flower pot, patio and veg patch.
Event:
Northern Summer Exhibition 2026
Dates:
3 Aug 2026 - 12 Sep 2026
Venue:
Newcastle Arts Centre, 67 Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne
This annual, open submission exhibition invites entries from all North Eastern and Cumbrian artists. Since its first year in 2023, The Northern Summer Exhibition has showcased artwork from professionals, hobbyists, and novices. It welcomes pieces from across mediums, genres, subjects and abilities, striving to celebrate the range of creative vision and artistic practice in the region. Now a staple of Newcastle Arts Centre and The North of England Art Club’s calendar, each year the exhibition introduces new artists and further enriches the network of practicing creatives at home in the North.
