As you know my work is all about flora and I love to create new and exciting pieces that reflect my love of the blossoming world. At first glance this style is a new direction for me however those of you who have followed my work for some time will be able to see the natural progression and links to other pieces. Pushing boundaries and extending myself is great!
Inspired by summer meadows of wild flowers, this piece is hand drawn from the sketch through to the finished painting. It has it's own quirks and imperfections that create a pleasing whole - nothing digital here!
Lashings of metal leaf really bring this piece alive with a deep turquoise underpinning it all. The metal leaf runs along the edge of the canvas and provides interest from all angles.
Painted on a deep-edged canvas that requires no framing and is therefore ready to hang and enjoy.
