Artwork description
MARCED looks at his hand in shock, as if seeing a living hand for the first time. His fingers move. Blood flows. He realises that the hand is real, that it belongs to him and responds to his will.
In his favourite world, MARCED is immortal, fearless and endlessly reborn. He has armour, weapons, fast cars and countless lives. Yet now he is afraid of his own body—alive, fragile and real. Somewhere between reality and fiction, he has forgotten what it means to exist.
Perhaps we all sometimes escape into worlds where we can become anyone and avoid the weight of real life. MARCED also reflects part of my own escape. Today, reality feels more interesting, because I now create fiction within it—not the other way around.
