Original artwork description
Let It Bleed (2024)
“Autumn is the earth’s most honest season. It’s the time when the landscape stops pretending, shedding its green mask to reveal the raw, burning rust beneath.”
* The Raw Transition: This significant 150 x 120 cm 3D linen canvas is a visceral exploration of the late autumn landscape. It captures that specific moment of the year when the earth turns cold and the last remnants of warmth are concentrated in the dark, ochre undergrowth. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled the forest edge into a series of heavy, horizontal strata—where the grey, misty sky seems to press down on the glowing, "bleeding" horizon.
* The Musical Cipher: The title Let It Bleed is a direct entry in my "sonic diary." It references a specific, gritty track or a raw blues-rock energy that informed the physical intensity of the painting process. I invite the collector to seek the auditory counterpart to these scorched oranges and deep, somber greys; only when the music’s emotional weight aligns with the texture of the linen is the true frequency of the work’s melancholic power unlocked.
* Atmospheric Friction: To capture the damp, heavy air of a November day, I applied dozens of translucent glazes using unconventional DIY tools—sponges, rags, and coarse brushes. The 3D linen canvas gives the work a sculptural presence, allowing the dark, charcoal-like base to ground the ethereal, misty layers above. This piece is designed to be a "reflective anchor" for modern interiors, bringing a sense of grounded, natural drama to the space.
