Glimps Holm Gold is a large-scale blue and gold contemporary seascape in luminous aqua, turquoise, warm gold and soft pewter tones. At 70 × 50 inches, this vertical statement artwork combines an ethereal coastal landscape with a rich, painterly appearance, created for sophisticated contemporary and luxury interiors.
Glimps Holm is a tiny island in Orkney, surrounded by the clear northern waters of Scotland. Beneath a pewter sky, gentle blue water rolls towards pale sand touched with gold. It is a quiet, remote landscape, steeped in the extraordinary history of Orkney and seemingly far removed from the modern world.

I wanted the finished artwork to retain that sense of stillness while becoming something softer and more impressionistic. A subtle digital layer of texture has been incorporated into the image, giving the photograph the visual richness and depth of a textured painting while the actual printed canvas surface remains smooth.
At this generous scale, Glimps Holm Gold creates an elegant focal point for a substantial wall. Its vertical proportions work particularly well above a console, fireplace or within an entrance hall, living space or room with high ceilings. A NOTE ON CANVASES

The canvas includes approximately 2 inches of white border around the image for stretching by your framer and is shipped safely rolled in a sturdy art tube.
