My series “Clownada” is dedicated to human self-representation in the modern world — not only in real life but also in the virtual one. We invest so much energy into making an impression; and if in the past this pressure existed only at work, school, or within the family, today you also have to maintain your virtual persona. Enormous amounts of effort go into feeding the ego, and in the end, it all turns into a kind of “Clownada.”
The paintings depict Pierrots after a long shift — a metaphor for the modern person who has spent the whole day fighting for a place in the spotlight.
