In this still life, I explore the subtle dialogues between muted grey, airy blue, and vibrant yellow tones. The luminous daffodils in the jug were grown with care in my own garden, bringing an intimate, organic touch to the canvas, while the surreal blue bananas introduce a playful, unexpected rhythm to the composition.
The piece was painted under the influence of 90s Britpop and trip-hop—the melodic contrast of raw melancholy and vibrant energy directly shaped the expressive brushwork, bold outlines, and atmosphere.
