Cliff Cave Park in Sunlight (2024) Original Oil Painting by Daniel Brian Fishback

While painting on location recently, I became attracted to this lovely scene. Trees were lined up on either side of the pathway leading toward the lookout over the Mississippi River. Early morning sunlight made the trees come alive with beautiful shadows and light. I always try to capture the light effect of the scene or the reference photo.

As I often do, I pushed the colors, from the local color to colors that incorporate more intense purples and yellow greens.
