This work was built through a layered process, starting from a clear idea and evolving through multiple stages of color, composition, and form. I like to leave traces of previous layers visible, so the painting feels alive and constantly shifting.
The figure carries a bold and slightly provocative energy. There is something playful and defiant in her presence, a sense of confidence without explanation. The combination of green, violet, and lavender ties the whole piece together through contrast and tension. “Chertovka” is a Russian word that loosely translates as “little devil”, capturing this untamed, expressive, and unapologetic character.
