About Tricia Newell

Biography

I studied graphic design and illustration at Ipswich Art School in the seventies and spent many years as a freelance illustrator of nature and children's books.

In 2014 I attended a workshop at Sudbourne Park Printmakers, where I discovered a love of woodcuts. Now a member at Sudbourne, printmaking has become my main artistic focus and I am enjoying producing etchings, woocuts, collagraphs and drypoint prints.

My inspiration comes from the natural world and I like to explore the detail, pattern and textures within it. I hope to convey the feelings and emotion which they evoke in me.
