Artwork description
This is a solar etching of a road near where I live in Suffolk. The afternoon sun was shining brightly on the wet road and I liked the way it almost looked like water.
It is made by using one of my photographs and then printed onto a transparency. This is put over a light-sensitive polymer plate which is exposed to UV light. This transfers the image to the plate, which I can then print in the same way as a traditional etching.
Each print is inked up in sepia ink, wiped, and put through an etching press.
