Biography
Professional experience as an electronics technician has deeply influenced visual metaphors in my work. My paintings use imagery of electronic circuitry to reflect the interconnected nature of systems, exploring how physical and perceived connections shape shared culture, traditions, and technologies.
I’ve received formal training in MFA studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts 東京藝術大学院 (2004-2005), where I studied oil painting under Professor Koji Kinutani. While living in Kyoto from 2000-2004 and Nagasaki, Japan from 2019-2022, I was introduced to the aesthetic and philosophies of Japanese artists, which continue to guide my compositions and subject matter.
Experiences while working in Gaeta, Italy from 2005-2007 and in Naples, Italy from 2017-2019 also inform my palette and themes.
