The ninth work in a series re-imagining the origin of the traditional Japanese gate to a sacred space or Shinto shrine, TORII (鳥居).

At Tsugane Otoshi Waterfall つがね落としの滝 in Nagasaki, a TORII emerges from golden trees and boulders laden with hematite.

Painted with acrylics on canvas. Using razor blades and brushes, a foundation of color is layered to a rich texture, then overlaid with intricate lines and geometric patterns resembling circuitry.
