About Raffaella Matranga

  • Biography
My art explores the process of healing from the wounds inflicted by others, particularly through words. I describe my paintings as unconventional, reflecting how I have often felt throughout my life. My canvases are non-conforming and entirely handmade, representing the uniqueness of each individual, while the white rectangles serve as a metaphor for other people’s expectations. These rectangles adhere to standard formats much like the expectations they symbolize. I am interested in selling on Artfinder because it is widely recognized as one of the leading and most professional platforms for selling art online.

    Event: Wunder Kammer

    Dates: 16 Apr 2026 - 19 May 2026

    Venue: Daszimmer48, Berlin

Wunder Kammer brought together a constellation of international artists in a group exhibition conceived as a space for encounters between different visions, languages, and artistic practices. Inspired by the idea of the “cabinet of curiosities,” the project shaped a contemporary journey in which painting, photography, sculpture, and visual research entered into dialogue, offering an open, layered, and surprising perspective on the present.

Event: You Seemed Normal - Art, Wounds, and Redemption

    Dates: 7 Jan 2026 - 29 May 2026

    Venue: San Severo, Italy

“Seemed Normal — Art, Wounds, and Redemption” is this artist’s first solo exhibition. This exhibition is a visual and emotional journey through judgmental words, wounds that exclude, and identities that resist.

Inspired by stories of disability and diversity, it guides the viewer through experiences of marginalization, leading toward the reclaiming of one’s own strength and uniqueness.

Each artwork is born from a real phrase, a pain transformed into form.

If a canvas spoke to you, perhaps it is because something within you wants to be acknowledged.
