Original artwork description
The artist’s work begins here, from that invisible wound certain words create, and from the way they leave scars. Unconventional canvases, vivid and vibrant colors, soft and fluid shapes are brutally interrupted by sterile white rectangles. This continues until complete healing and awareness are reached in the painting with no rectangles at all, free from the weight of others’ judgment.
Each piece is born from a real sentence,a pain transformed into form.
This painting, in particular, explores the feeling of being forced to emigrate somewhere else in order to have a better future, but also the experience of feeling compelled to give up one’s dreams and remain where one is because of external pressures. The purple section represents the part of Italy I come from, where this issue is deeply felt.
