About Nicholas Grove
Biography
Nick Grove RSMA is an award-winning British painter based in Stamford, England. Working primarily in oil, he is known for his atmospheric landscapes, cityscapes and coastal paintings created directly from life.
Largely self-taught, Nick has spent over twenty years painting outdoors, developing a practice rooted in careful observation and a desire to capture the atmosphere and character of a place. His work has been exhibited widely, including at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
Nick is an elected member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, a member of the Chelsea Art Society, and is represented by Thompson's Galleries. In 2025, he was honoured to receive the Julian Barrow Award for A Sense of Place at the Chelsea Art Society Annual Exhibition.
His paintings are held in private collections throughout the UK and internationally.
