About Gordon Hunt

I am a full time artist, I work from my studio here in Fowey, Cornwall. Cornwall is a great source of inspiration, and a popular holiday destination, with deep turquoise water, rocky cliffs and amazing beaches. 

I am particularly interested in reflected light effects of sunshine, giving sparkling reflections and silhouettes, resulting in strong contrasting colours and dynamic shapes, for a more ‘abstract’ realisation of the subject matter, flashes of colour resonate through the pictures. I concentrate on painting the light around the object, I feel the ‘light’ then becomes the subject of the painting, I have a real sense of ‘painting the light’ when creating these works. 

My work has become very popular with many commissions and sales around the world. It evokes feelings  of wellbeing, holidays and family happiness.

I work in acrylic on box canvas for immediate renditions of the scene.

Paintings are bubble wrapped and encased in hardboard for safe despatch to anywhere in the world.
