About Elizabeth Westcott

Biography

My journey began with growing up in the countryside, and it is a place that has continued to draw me back again and again. I studied art at Cheltenham College, where I learned not only the practical techniques of painting, but also the importance of looking closely.

After a time working in a high-stress job, I chose to leave that path behind, and return to what I love - painting. This was something that I could do working from home, while I focused on bring up my two sons.

I paint from real life scenes that I have observed, photographed, and then creatively interpreted onto deep canvases, back in my studio. Each work has multiple layers of acrylic paint and inks, to create depth and feeling. I add silver-leaf or gold-leaf highlights, for delicate, light-catching moments.

Through colour, texture, and shape, my aim is to communicate the wonder of nature as I experience it.

Ultimately, I hope that my paintings bring love, joy, and peace to everyone who sees them. They are a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and to feel connected to the natural world.

I have exhibited at five galleries in England and Wales. I have collectors all over the world, including in the United States and Australia.
