Cherish the Love (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Elizabeth Westcott
76.2 x 76.2 x 3.81cm
£995
Original artwork description
I got so inspired by this beautiful wild flower meadow. Those delicate Queen Anne’s Lace blooms. The story goes that Queen Anne pricked her finger while sewing lace, which is why the umbels have a tiny dark crimson flower in the centre. Also known as ‘wild carrot’ (because they are edible), these were just nestling in among the fine grasses with their pretty seed heads swaying in the breeze. I absolutely love these.
I used greens, pale peach, and pink to make this painting. I tried to capture a soft, dreamy vibe, and I added little patches of silver leaf to make it feel like sunlight is actually glistening and dancing across the grasses. On a summer’s day these wild flowers felt calming and relaxing.
This painting is painted on a gallery canvas, which is strung at the back, and ready to hang straight on a wall. It would suit a neutral country or town interior.

Acrylic, ink and silver leaf
