Biography
Aloosan's practice explores colour, light, matter, space and perception.
For more than two decades, her work has moved between figuration and abstraction, dense material surfaces and transparent layers. Throughout these different periods, she has remained interested in how an image can stay open beyond what is immediately visible.
Working primarily in oil, Aloosan builds her paintings through layers, translucent glazes and subtle interactions of colour. Metallic and iridescent pigments sometimes introduce another dimension: the surface shifts with changing light and with the viewer's position.
Her wider practice has also included experiments with projection, anamorphosis and ChromaDepth, reflecting a long-standing interest in the variability of perception.
Aloosan does not begin a painting with a fixed image. She creates conditions in which colour, light and matter can interact, allowing the work to emerge through the process. Rather than prescribing a single interpretation, she leaves space for the viewer's own memory, associations and experience.
Based in France, Aloosan’s works are held in private and corporate collections internationally.
