About Alina Marsovna

Biography

Alina’s painting explores the inner landscape through the lens of animal portraiture. Horses and whales, recurring figures in her dreams and imagination, appear most often in her work and become symbols of her subconscious, carrying meanings she continues to explore throughout her life. Her work seeks to capture the fleeting emotions and internal states of the moment — a sense of calm, movement, and introspection. Through layered painting and textured surfaces, Alina balances realism with expressive qualities, allowing each animal’s form to emerge from a subtle interplay of detailed representation and gestural, almost abstract, textures. She is drawn to deep, rich colors and delicate layering, creating depth and atmosphere that reflect both the physical presence of the creature and the psychological resonance it evokes.
Ultimately, her art invites viewers into an emotional dialogue, encouraging a personal connection and reflection on their own inner world through the silent, powerful presence of the animals she portrays.

Bio

Alina was born in 1994 in Sterlitamak (Bashkiria, Russia). In 2009, she began learning painting by herself. In 2014-2015 she participated in local exhibitions in Bashkiria. In 2018, Alina graduated the Bashkir State University with a master's degree in Biology. After graduation, in 2018, she moved to Moscow and started participating in major international exhibitions. Currently she works in Moscow, keeps developing her style, collaborates with contemporary art galleries.
