In 2012 I traveled in Zakynthos, Greece and I was stunned by the beauty of this island with its gorgeous landscapes and magnificent views to the sea.
Zakynthos town or Zante is the capital of Zakynthos island, the third size of the Greek islands of the Ionian Sea.
After the earthquake and fire on August 9-th 1953, the town was rebuild preserving the Venetian and Byzantine style wherever possible.
Near Zakynthos town, there is a snake like road to the hill Bohali. The view of the port from above is simply breathtaking and even more enjoyable when you are seated at one of the many open air cafes or local tavernas.
I was simply stunned by the magical beauty of this view and by the special light at sunset.... and I decided to paint this personal Zakynthos impression.
