Winter Village by the River (2025) Original Oil Painting by Aleksandr Dubrovskyy
30 x 20 x 1cm (unframed)
£566.19
Original artwork description
There are winter days when almost nothing seems to move. The river becomes quiet, the village disappears beneath snow, and even familiar houses begin to look different.
That was the feeling I wanted to keep in Winter Village by the River.
In a small painting, every element matters. I let the river lead through the snow-covered landscape toward the houses, while blue and violet shadows break the whiteness of the snow. A few warmer notes around the village keep the landscape from becoming completely cold.
What interests me most here is the silence. The village is inhabited, yet nature seems to have taken over for a while. For me, it is one of those winter moments when an ordinary rural landscape suddenly feels timeless.
