“Windy and salty” is an expressive, gestural painting evoking a feeling of wind, big waves, salty air and shimmering sands.. The painting is built up of veils of colour, scribbles and scratches. Broad, dynamic brushstrokes and expressive paint drips are balanced by rhythmic patterns, scratches and marks made with a palette knife.

There is a variety of mark making and contrasting areas of transparent and opaque paint all of which enliven the surface of the painting and convey an overall atmosphere of a windy day by the sea.
