This painting was inspired by some beautiful willow trees beside a local lake. Here I have focused on the form of the trees rather than the colour of late summer. I have used bold brushstrokes and marks to keep their energy fresh and immediate. The painting is set in a shallow black wood frame with a small shadow gap between canvas and frame.
