Original artwork description
White Noise (2025)
“The ocean doesn't have a voice; it has a frequency. When the waves rise, they drown out the world’s static, replacing it with a roar that is both chaotic and strangely cleansing.”
* The Anonymous Abyss: This 90 x 90 cm work departs from the serenity of the shoreline to explore the untamed energy of the open sea. It is a portrait of water in motion—unrestrained, nameless, and powerful. By applying the Blinkered method to a restless sea, I have translated the physical weight of the waves into a rhythmic, horizontal surge of deep indigos, frothing whites, and slate greys.
* The Musical Cipher: The title White Noise is a direct reference to my "sonic diary." It represents the wall of sound—a specific distortion or a heavy, atmospheric layer of music—that filled the studio during the painting’s creation. I invite the collector to find the auditory equivalent to these aggressive, sweeping strokes; only when the music’s "static" matches the visual turbulence is the true frequency of the work’s tension unlocked.
* Dynamic Tension: Executed on premium linen, the painting’s surface is a battlefield of layers. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and coarse rags, I’ve built a texture that feels as though it is still moving. The contrast between the dark, heavy depths and the sharp, bright highlights of the "noise" (the foam) creates a sense of imminent movement, making the canvas a powerful, high-energy centerpiece for any contemporary space.
