Original artwork description
I want to create atmosphere with my art so I have been working on a series of dog paintings using a limited palette which helps contrive a sense of gentleness and calm.
This whippet has been painted on a stretched canvas 18 x 24 inches using acrylic paint along with pastels and ink, washes of translucent colour and marks made by various techniques add depth. The edges are painted white, it is sealed with satin varnish and is unframed and ready to hang.
The loose painterly approach gives a this painting a light serene sense and layers of texture and the soft muted colour draws the observer closer in making this artwork an intimately stylish piece.
