Where Silence Lives is an original abstract landscape painting inspired by the quiet moments when a landscape seems to hold its breath.

Layers of colour, expressive marks and contrasting textures create a sense of distance and atmosphere, while fragments of recognisable landscape emerge and disappear within the abstraction. The composition is less about depicting one particular place and more about capturing the feeling of standing somewhere still and open, with space to pause and look.

I created the work using acrylic, charcoal, pastel, spray paint and stencil techniques on a wooden cradle board. The combination of fluid colour, drawn marks and textured layers gives the surface a sense of depth and movement, while the quieter areas allow the eye to rest.

The painting is presented unframed, allowing the substantial wooden support to remain part of its character.
