Artist's description:

One of the first paintings I created using the 'whitewashing', layering, or covering technique. This painting was all about covering my pain and grief from my father's passing. That was a really dark time in my life because I was trying to be strong for my son and for my mother and felt like I had to push my grief down or color over it so that I could function. This mixed media piece is the title piece for my 2015 solo show of the same name.

Materials used:

acrylic paint, ink, tissue paper
