The steep scree slopes of Wast Water in the English Lake District never fail to terrify me - plunging down into the deep dark waters of the areas deepest lake.
The cold water of the lakes reflect the sky and the hills above - Scafell Pike among them. The whole scene is framed by an ancient oak tree clinging to the rocky edges of the lake.
I have used bold impasto style brush strokes working in an impressionistic style. the colours are clear and vibrant.
The painting is supplied rolled in a tube.
