Untamed Horizon (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Miquel Àngel Orta

Untamed Horizon is built around the contrast between a solid mountain form and a large luminous cloud that seems to expand and shift above it. The mountain anchors the composition, while the cloud introduces movement, instability and a sense of changing weather. Between them, the horizon becomes a point of tension: grounded and physical below, open and almost weightless above.

Layers of acrylic, translucent glazes and fluid marks soften the boundaries between land and sky. Rather than describing a specific place, the painting uses mountain, cloud and light to evoke a landscape in transformation, suspended between something recognisable and something more abstract and elusive.
