Artwork description
This work is part of my series "The Shaman’s Ascent", in which I explore a living dialogue between forest, sky, and human perception. I create these images not as symbols to be decoded, but as experiences that arise before explanation and interpretation.
The works emerge through my authorial way of seeing, where upward movement, rhythm, and layered perception are formed directly in the moment of photographing. Trees extend beyond their physical form, dissolving into flowing structures that guide the gaze toward a state of inner ascent and focused presence. The forest appears not as a landscape, but as a space of transformation and awareness.
In this series, I return to a primordial mode of perception — childlike, shamanic, and ecstatic — where nature is encountered as a sacred space of direct knowledge. As boundaries soften, a subtle connection between human perception and the silent life of trees becomes tangible.
The Creative Process:
My art is born entirely in-camera. Using intentional camera movement (ICM) combined with a delicate multiple exposure technique (layering up to 10-12 frames), form dissolves and gives way to pure energy. Tree crowns transform into luminous structures, leaves become pulses of color, and the sky turns into a space where invisible forces manifest.
A vital element of this piece is the distinctive color work during RAW conversion. I do not artificially paint or alter the scene; instead, I carefully unveil the subtlest, delicate color nuances and shifting layers already captured by the digital sensor.
