Original artwork description
I painted this picture, The Road to Périgueux, remembering the quiet French countryside bathed in soft summer light.
I wanted to convey the sense of peace created by the old house, the fields, and the winding road.
I especially enjoyed painting the red-tiled roof and warm walls of the house, as if they had been warmed by the sun.
I filled the dense trees on the right with lively, energetic brushstrokes to capture the movement of nature.
In the foreground, old logs lie on the ground — a simple detail of rural life that gives the landscape a special sense of authenticity.
The road gently disappears into the distance, and I feel as though it is leading me toward new impressions.
In every brushstroke, I left the light, the scent of grass, and my admiration for this beautiful French land.
For me, The Road to Périgueux is a memory of a place where I would like to stop, look around, and simply feel alive.
