I created this image while watching an approaching storm drift across the water. The contrast between the dark skies and the warm glow above the horizon gives the scene a quiet sense of hope, while the calm water anchors the composition with a feeling of stillness. The result has an almost painterly quality, reminiscent of an oil painting rather than a traditional photograph.
