Original artwork description
The second painting of the triptych The Quiet Hours. The turquoise field is the same, but now there are two roses instead of one.
They sit close together without touching, each keeping its own quiet. The branches stretch a little further, the leaves grow a little denser — but there is still so much space, and the space matters as much as the flowers. The bare linen breathes through everywhere.
I did not paint this as a pair, or a couple, or a meeting. I painted it as two separate quiets in the same air. Presence making room for presence, without either one needing to be louder.
