The London Underground Giclée print by Miroslav Sasek

43 x 50.01cm (unframed)

£95

Watercolour with pen and ink, originally for ‘This is London’ (1959). Compare this with Cyril Power’s ‘Tube Train’: in each we find particularized figures, but here we have the besuited gent; the businessman in top hat perusing the Telegraph; the Sikh in his turban and the bespectacled man clinging to the handle above his head. Here, too, the papers are used to good effect to form blocks of geometric shapes which extend down the perspectival lines of the carriage. With its graphic strength and vibrancy of colours, this is many people’s favourite Sasek print.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 850 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.

Dispatch time: 5 working days for unframed prints. 14 working days for framed prints.

Materials used:

Giclée print on 310gsm thick, 100% cotton rag.
