Of course, this is not a portrait of Gatsby since he was a fictional character. This is pretty close though: the author of Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald is now widely regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century. He finished four novels: This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful and Damned, The Great Gatsby, and Tender Is the Night. He lead a most interesting life which you can read about in Wikipedia. He died at the age of 44.
THE GREAT GATSBY is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art. It is painted on 4 mil. archival grade drafting mylar . The background has been digitally reproduced on the mylar and then the portrait and shadow was painted over the background.
The mylar is tough, waterproof, inert, flexible, dimensionally stable, and it does not have to be stretched, like canvas and watercolor paper. The painting is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I only sell original work so there will only be one original and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be shipped in a tube. The artwork is very easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell and also I include mounting tape, a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board.
If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on tempered masonite board with a two or three inch border. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $40.00 for mounting and packaging plus the additional shipping costs. Message me through this site and I will calculate the total costs for mounting and shipping.
