This painting was inspired by a poem written by Aidan Andrew Dun, called "Swan Landing" from the book " The Uninhabitable City" published in 2005.
These the first few lines from this beautiful poem:
Black nignt, planing in.
Dark straights beneath.
Wings shudder in the glidepath.
Driving on.Descending.
Air dense with rain and mist.
Going low.Wind speed!
Aircraft, I'm coming down.
Stars on liquid, landing lights.
