Original artwork description
This original oil painting explores the quiet transition between daylight and evening, when the landscape begins to lose its detail and becomes defined by colour, atmosphere and reflection.
A low sun rests above the distant shoreline, casting a delicate path of light across the calm water. Warm tones of peach, coral and pale gold are balanced by cool blues and violets, creating a restrained harmony between sky, water and land.
Rather than describing the scene in precise detail, I simplified the landscape to preserve the sensation of the moment. The distant coast dissolves into atmospheric haze, while subtle reflections give the water a sense of stillness and depth.
Painted in 2020, the work represents a quieter side of my landscape painting and an earlier stage of my continuing exploration of light, memory and places experienced through travel.
It is a contemplative piece created not simply as a view, but as an emotional landscape — a moment of fading light preserved in paint.
