This painting is a fantastic addition to our entryway hall. It hangs beautifully over the table and serves as a stunning backdrop for the mirror. It adds a touch of elegance to the entrance of our living area. We love the colors and depth of the painting. This is the 2nd painting ("Mystical lake") I have had the pleasure of purchasing from this artist. Like the 1st painting I bought ("Morning magic"), it arrived promptly and was very securely packaged. "Mystical lake" has an intensely atmospheric quality, a powerful sensation which is enhanced by the dense brushwork. It depicts a wild forest landscape bathed in a corona of moonlight, in which the very air itself feels charged with electricity and heightened expectation. Although stylistically different to Edvard Munch's depictions of lush Norwegian elm and pine forests, Chernyakovsky's enchanting painting conveys a similar sense of breathless wonder.

A truly beautiful impressionist painting which arrived promptly, securely swaddled in impeccable packaging. Depicting a bridge spanning a wide expanse of water bathed in early morning sunlight, it possesses a serene, dreamlike quality redolent of the 19th century American painter James McNeill Whistler's nocturne series of paintings, some of which I have had the pleasure of viewing for myself in the Tate. Like Whistler's nocturnes, Chernyakovsky's painting primarily relies upon two different colours (in this case, blue and yellow). I do not know whether this was a conscious decision on the artist's part, but the painting's colour scheme and composition actively reminds me of the horizontal bands of Ukraine's national flag. Correspondingly, in my mind's eye, the sturdy bridge's deep blue set against the shifting water's burnished reflection of a pale morning sky is a powerful symbol of the historic and ongoing situation in Ukraine, a country in which the solidarity and resolve of its people has held firm, even when confronted with significant uncertainty and strife. Irrespective of the artist's intent, this is an exquisitely balanced artwork which evokes powerful feelings of optimism and hope in the viewer, and is one which my wife and I derive great pleasure from.
