Original artwork description
Still Life with Sunflowers — After Nikolai Fechin
An original oil painting developed as a painterly interpretation of “Still Life with Sunflowers” by Nikolai Fechin.
Inspired by the expressive floral paintings of Nikolai Fechin, this original oil painting explores colour, movement, and painterly freedom rather than botanical precision.
The bouquet bursts with energy as vivid yellows, deep reds, and warm earth tones emerge from dramatic shadows. Expressive brushstrokes and rich layers of paint create a sense of rhythm, allowing the flowers to dissolve into light and atmosphere. The composition is filled with life, celebrating the untamed beauty of sunflowers through an emotional and contemporary interpretation.
Rather than reproducing a historic painting, this work reflects my own response to Fechin's expressive vision, translating his influence into a personal painterly language.
Painted in oils on canvas, this artwork brings warmth, vitality, and bold colour into any contemporary interior.
